Trading journal for Topstep, Apex and Lucid

Use supported broker connections or CSV import to review several futures prop accounts without claiming unsupported native sync.

The direct answer

You can journal Topstep, Apex, and Lucid accounts in one workflow, but the import method depends on the account provider. QuantLab supports Topstep through ProjectX, while Apex and Lucid traders can use CSV unless their account is available through Tradovate or ProjectX. Start with the prop firm trading journal guide before choosing a connection.

QuantLab does not claim a native Apex or Lucid integration. That distinction matters because the label on a prop account does not tell you which technical connection exposes its executions.

Match the import path to the account

For Topstep, connect a ProjectX username and API key, validate it, and select the accounts to import. For a Tradovate-based account, use the Tradovate OAuth flow and choose the relevant account. Tradovate sync starts when you request it.

For any unsupported setup, export the broker statement as CSV. QuantLab lets you map trade fields and normalize the imported executions. It can group nearby executions into positions. Account-scoped duplicate fingerprints keep a repeated upload from adding the same records again.

Keep firm rules separate

Create each prop account with its own target, maximum drawdown, drawdown used, and consistency limit. Never apply a single generic rule set to Topstep, Apex, and Lucid. The current QuantLab firm table covers eight firms, including Topstep and Apex, but it does not contain Lucid. Its rules were reviewed in September 2026 and still need confirmation against the firm's current rulebook.

Once the inputs are correct, the dashboard can calculate maximum drawdown and evaluate the configured consistency rule. A multi-account view reduces spreadsheet switching, but it does not make firm rules interchangeable.

Reconcile before review

Compare each import with its broker statement before using the journal to change your plan. Review the date range, contract, quantity, and result. If an execution is absent, solve the data gap first.

Then compare behavior across accounts. You may find that a size decision appears in more than one evaluation even though the account limits differ. QuantLab's behavior detectors and fill replay can help test an alternate limit against your own history.

Keep account names useful

Name each journal account so you can identify both the firm and the source account without opening another screen. Record the correct starting state when adding an evaluation already in progress. In particular, carry over drawdown already used instead of reviewing the account as if it were new.

Use one review question across the accounts when you want to compare behavior. For example, check whether size increased after a loss. Keep the rule calculations separate, since the firms may define their limits differently. This gives you a fair behavior comparison without blending official account terms.

Questions

Does QuantLab natively sync Apex and Lucid?

No. Use CSV unless the account is exposed through a supported Tradovate or ProjectX connection.

Can I track several firm accounts?

Yes. QuantLab provides one dashboard across several configured prop firm accounts.

Are firm rules the same across accounts?

No. Rules vary by firm and account, so enter values from the current applicable rulebook.
